Participation fee is $325 per booking for up to 2 people.

Here is a guide as to what the 4WD training weekend will look like:

GROUP ONE ON SATURDAY
“The drive track” Group leader is Jeff (property owner & driver trainer). Contains corning of different difficulty, track conditions, hill climb and descent, articulations, gullies.

  • Checking combination setup and safety check
  • Understanding possible combination limitations before drive; vehicle clearance, vehicle turning capabilities,
  • Vehicle jack-knife points, recovery, vehicle height and width constraints
  • Group leader to highlight items of interest – drivers are to consider and be on the lookout for
  • Group leader will speak as selected point around drive (subject to trailer types on drive)
  • Communications – UHF radios (bring your own, hand held units OK)
  • Identifying hazards and associated risks
  • Track conditions and change in conditions

GROUP TWO ON SATURDAY
“Home base group” These will be determined prior to each date announcement depending on the group leader of the day (Gary &/or Dave). Topics may include but not be restricted to:

  • Wheels – Tyres, bearings, pressures ( and benefit of lowering tyre pressures) Jacks & Jacking points
  • Vehicle travel as a combination – bitumen roads & Gravel roads
  • Trailer hitch equipment – safety , hitching checks, maintenance
  • Electrical (12v) lighting, tests, safety, checks, repairs
  • WDH and sway equipment
  • Compliance – loading, mass distribution through combination, loading effects on road
